 is anyone baking  cedar or redwood tops ? or is it just the spruces ? thanks Jody

Most of the Cedar I get is "salvage" wood from decades dead trees. In my opinion, these tops don't need baking if they have been properly air dried.
I have baked some, with no ill affects though, so it shouldn't be a problem if you decide to toss 'em in the oven.
I have heard some classical builders routinely bake their Cedar tops to increase the stiffness.
I don't have any experience with baking Redwood.
