Greetings
Here's a pin router for inlay made from a Dremel drill press with some mods. I used a 1/32 bit from LMI and a 0.035 pin. I had to make some mods on the depth stops which suck on the original press. I had a Corian negative made for my logo by the same place that CNC's it. Stick it on the back of the headstock veneer with double stick tape. I've used it on several head plates and it works slick. Got the idea from Charlie Hoffman's web site.

Cool !!! Looks like it gives some tight fitting inlays and is easy as pie too. My kind of jig !

Very cool Terence!

I'm assuming you are not actually inlaying solid parts in there but rather filling with some colored epoxy or something?

I was looking for a way to right "Moisan" on my truss rod covers, now I have just found it!

Alain,
The inlay is in two parts. the K and the ennedy. The hole in the y and d are filled with wood dust and superglue. I'm sure there are better ways to do this. Sometimes the center of larger y hole will remain, other times it splits out.
Thanks
Terry

Inlay material is MOP but I'm looking at the possibility of Ablam. They are really fragile.

The abalam is no less fragile than the pearl, maybe moreso, though it does bend a bit before it breaks. It's just the nature of the beast; you could bend a chunk of aluminum cut that thin pretty easily even.

Do you have another pattern to cut out the MOP?
