Try a set of EJ18 .. heavys, I think they are 14-59. Shoud be a bit better than the meds at lower tunings. I cant say that the EJ23 baris will work so well at 27.5 .... they need a bit more tension to sound better. Mine are 28.5 scale, and the bari strings sound good in B, but in C I would use the heavys instead ... easier to get too ...
The bottom line IMO is that body style and size is on the small side for a bari - I use a modded jumbo shape, 20 5/8 long, 16 5/8 wide,and deep as well, at least 4 5/8, 4 3/4+ is better again.
