Any pictures? I really would get a better idea of stick sharpness if there was some illustration.
By the way, do you have a favorite wood for sharp sticks? Can we use one of the tonewood suppliers, or do you suggest a dealer/distributor for sharp sticks?
Up until now, I was mostly a blunt club kind of guy, but I'm thinking I might try the sharp stick thing. I have to think about it...

Just wait til Grumpy finds that you've been polluting the main topic forum.

 I'm a little embarassed, so no pix here. I'd get almost all the way to a sharp point and "SNAP", it (they) broke. THen I tried a couple species, and after getting almost to a point, I found the center was soft, or even hollow gaah .

I know there's a lot to learn here. I have even MORE questions. THe info given seems to contradict other info.

Can someone PLEASE post some pix? (video seems a better format, actually) There must be someone who's walked through this and documented it.

Maybe at John Hall's OLF get together.

OK, here is one of my sharp sticks. Please note that it has two ends, and each has a different function. The dull end, used for holding blocks in place - sharp (dangerous) end is used for cleaning glue from the sides and soundboard. Now this sharp stick is made from spruce, so great care has to be used as it will not keep a sharp edge if used roughly, or for anything besides cleaning glue.

And yes, I made it myself. It is, however, my second attempt. My first was much to large for the "Advanced - Dual-Purpose, Sharp Stick Like Object.
