Looked like a good way to enter into the Scary Sharp way of doing things. A few people have some less than good to say things about the honing guide that comes with it I noticed. I was looking at the Veritas as an alternative. Can someone guide me through on how to hone blades with a convex end like the Ibex or D'Angelico plane blades?

It is a WONDERFUL honing guide. I can bring a dull chisel to a "scary sharp" edge extremely quickly and efficiently. I love this system.
Sorry, I just wouldn't want somebody to order the roller assembly thinking it was the whole thing and then wonder what the heck we loved so much about the useless roller they just bought

I love the Mark II. Getting the correct angle was always a bit shaky for me. Repeating the angle was impossible.
