Can anyone here tell me a good source for buying Brazilian Fretboard blanks? Do any members have any they're willing to part with? Aesthetically I have a preference for the ones with a dark chocolate color. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Jack, if you strike out I have occassionally used Bois D'Rose and once it oxidizes it will give you the look you're probably after....

If you guys strike out with Bob C or any other of the sponsors then try Carl Barney. Last time I was there he had a bunch of even colored brown/black ones. You should be able to google him to get his phone/email. Good luck!

I got a nice dark chocolate one from Steve @ Colonial a while back. Don't know if he has more but you should give him a try.

Gilmer has lots of nice fingerboard wood. Madrose is a good substitute for BW.

Jack, if the usual suspects and sponsors don't have it currently in stock I'll be cutting several BRW for GAL exhibit. This is old growth, seriously aged, most quartersawn pieces, dark "Old Martinish" style. Matching bridges available. Don't have all that much stock remaining as I cut and delivered 146 BRW fingerboards to one customer in February. Not as inexpensive as the colorful stump wood however.

Jack, I had a bit of time to work on the GAL exhibit wood and got some of the BRW FB blanks cut. Here they are as promised. The numbers refer to how many blanks are available for that type......A, B, C or D. All consecutive cut rom the same billet of course. Old growth, quartersawn all. Some matching (same billet) bridges available if you need those as well. Email if any work for you....cheers....Larry
