I’m interested in producing eye-catching finishes consisting of NGR dyes of intense, deep colours. I’d also like to produce brilliant metal-flake and candy-apple finishes. I find that dealing with ordinary automotive supply places or furniture finishing supplierd is not the answer. I guess I’m looking for a specialty shop that likely sells to people who do custom finishing of motorcycles and custom cars, and if this company is located in Canada it would be a huge bonus.

This website is a good resource for electric guitar finishes:

http://reranch.com/

You might want to see if any one there would know.

You are not going to find NGR stains at an automotive supplier. Your best bet would be mail order or a web based site. I like Homesteadfinishing.com. They should have what you need.

You're not likely to find anyone who will ship flammable finishes internationally. Water-based is usually OK.

For the Kandy and Metalflake, I'd go down to the local custom bike shop and have a chat. See what they can get locally, that sort of thing. For dyes, StewMac has and ships transtint internationally, and that's as nice a wood dye as you're likely to want or need.
