Lance & Brock,
I'm sorry I missed it before, but I just realized there is now a "classified" option as well as a few others on the auction site. Very cool. The $.01 listing fees are nice right now, too. I can't believe this is not getting used more right now. Thanks for all the great work on the site. It seems to work really well and it looks great. Nice work.

Yes its a bit of mystery as to why the Luthiers Auctions site has not
taken off. But we refuse to give up! pizza

Mystery to me, too. The way you have it set up is a super easy way for anybody to have their own swap meet any day/week they choose. A lot easier to keep track of inventory as opposed to the seller having to continually monitor things and post updates.
As soon as I get my camera back in a couple weeks, I'll be posting a lot more items. Thanks again, Lance and Brock. Another reason to love our forum.

I think that what might provide a better response to the Luthiers auction site is to mirror what happens during a swap meet. There is a build up to it with announcements, many people agree to list things at the same time, and the feeding frenzy ensues......

Perhaps if there was a component of organization to how the site is used more people would use it? For example open it up to sponsors for free to list overstocks and specials and keep it open to members to use. If the members see the increased traffic and activity from the sponsor listings we would IMHO be more inclined to list our offerings there too.

Just a thought.

I don't know if anyone has suggested this or not, but I'm sure there are many people like myself who navigate to this site daily and simply hit the "View new posts." That is a very powerful button, but I don't know if it shows the auctions or not.

If the auctions don't show up in the new posts, then people don't see them.

This is just a thought mind you.

That would certainly draw everyone's attention to both new items and the auction site in general if there was some sort of notification or quickfire way to see it or get to it from the discussions page.
My OLF bookmark goes directly to the discussions page and I seldom venture into other pages except for searches.
A little bit of a quandry. How do you get people interested in checking out the page if there are so few items posted/how do you get people to post items if so few people check it?
The $.01 posting fee is a pretty risk-free way to do, so hopefully people will take the time to post more items and generate some viewing interest.

Couldn't the OLF auction items be placed in there rather than as thread in the discussion page?
