Hi
I am fixing a friends 12 string. It is an old Yamaha dread 12 string with a slotted headstock.
Someone in the past put mini solid headstock tuners in it. They really don't work well. The hole for the string of course at the top of the post so it is too far in the middle of the headstock.

What I need are MINI slotted headstock tuners for steel string. I cannot seem to find them???
Do they exist???

Help is appreciated

Thanks

You can cut the plates on individual 18/1 Grover Sta-tites for slot heads. Iirc, the mounting screw holes in the plates end up spaced just over 1" apart if you butt them using half of an original hole from each plate as in these photos. But you could go tighter and drill new holes for the mounting screws. Don't space them so close that the buttons can bump.
