Billy bro does this mean that your Photoshop
activities will now take a back seat to building? :D

I have a large list of things to accomplish. Here are a few.
1. I would like to create some intensive lutherie courses at the college. These would include weekend, one, two, three and four week classes. This would allow folks from out of town to come and study and not just those locally.
2. I am also working with the college online course department with the idea of creating some online courses and workshops. This would be a major undertaking but with the school resources and technology I think it could happen.
3. I have three new DVD's in the works and would like to finish those this year.
4. I have six guitars scheduled to be built this year. I hope to be able to pull this off and still complete the other items on the list.

My shop is in desperate need of a major cleaning. And I don't just mean dust...there's junk everywhere. I have more scrap pieces of wood, partial sheets of plywood, mdf, acrylic, and other stuff taking up space than I could possibly ever use, let alone have space to store. In short...it's a disaster. Every ounce of horizontal bench space is covered with wood and junk...most of which I'll never use. So I'm gonna rent a dumpster and call up my friend Burton to come down and give me a hand throwing out some stuff. Well, a ton of stuff.

After the shop has been cleaned out of all the excess junk, I need to get better organized. I have to make some drawers to store hand tools like files and rasps etc. and also for supplies of different kinds. I have stuff scattered all over the place, and end up wasting money buying replacements for tools I *lost* in some other part of the shop. I mean, I really don't need 4 tape measures, but I have them because I constantly misplace them amidst all the piles of junk.

After all that is done, I have to finish a Shaker rocking chair for my wife, and then I have some guitars that need to be finished up. I'm dying to get the cocobolo/adi SJ done so I can play it. I've been wanting a keeper guitar for ages, and decided that's the one I want.

After that, I have a bunch of guitars I have to make for a shop...mostly dreadnaughts - D-18's on steroids. From there, who knows what next?

Considering the year to begin in September? To build my new shop and 10 guitars. To keep playing now that I have started again.

My goal is to not to take on any more commissions, repairs, anything, until I can finish them in a timely manner without sacrificing my sanity from lack of sleep and stress from trying to combine a day job, family, old house -- you get the picture...[xx(]

Then I'd like to finish some half done projects I have laying around; a couple of mandolins, 2 or 3 acoustics guitars and one electric. Oh yes, I should probably also finish some things that were not completed in my recent shop, like wiring, ducting.

<edit> One more thing: Join a band and play some electric again, my amp is getting moldy!

My big goal is to expand my contacts within the musician community. Being a career radio guy, I have aquantances, and through my last commission a few more. I want to build at least 2 guitars as specs for 2 recording artists that I have contact with. They are interested...it's just a matter of timing.

Howard, every parent KNOWS that the new year begins with the start of school bliss

I am in the middle of some shop renos. Finally, after 11 years of working in there full time, the drywall has been painted! I was getting awfully tired of looking at un-sanded patching compound. Need some more storage because, like Don, every available horizontal surface is occupied in unproductive ways. Today I got 4 burnt out fluorescent fixtures replaced. I am determined to get my dust collection improved. I am quite happy with my battery operated leaf blower for blasting out dust from nooks and crannies.

Guitar-wise, I have a couple of SE117 Torres guitars to build for my daughters and one for me; a Panormo copy, too. Lots of other stuff, too, but I'll be happy to get these done.

Oh! and finish my basement rebuild. Started that last year by gutting it out. One short wall to build and some new stairs are the major projects left, then the flooring, painting, etc.

And I'd really like to take some flamenco lessons...
