How do you guys cut your mortise and tenon? I saw a Sylvan Wells article but he is using table saw which I don't have.
Is there a simple and accurate way of doing this without a table saw?

Thanks, David

I use the tablesaw, but I imagine you could do the tenon with a good handsaw. If I were to do it, I would make my mark with an exacto knife, and clamp a block on the line as a saw guide, carefully cutting to the proper depth. I'd use a good backsaw or a Japanese saw to do it. Just my 2 cents. Someone who has done this should chime in shortly.

I do it the way John Mayes does it, with jigs.
