On another thread there was mention of bridge wood & it's effect on tone. I think it was said that Ebony has higher internal damping and makes a mellower tone as compared to EIR.

So I was looking through all the exotic woods I've collected over the years & wonder if any of you have experience with using the following woods for bridges:

Pink Ivory
Kingwood (Brazilian)
Mexican Kingwood (Camatillo Rosewood, Dalbergia Congestiflora)
Desert Ironwood
African Blackwood
Cocobolo
Lignum Vitae (the real stuff, but I don't think there's an adhesive that will work)
Grenadillo (or is it Grenadilla?)
Bocote
Osage Orange

I realize that there will be variations from board to board within a species but I'm looking for generalities.

Thanks,
Kevin Looker

Grenadillia is "Delbergia Melanoxylon" or African blackwood.
