Does anyone have a template for these pickguards?

I guess that should scale up huh.

I'd do what Ed suggested. In fact, I'd probably just draw the diameter of the inlay on paper. Cut it out a little big. Place it on the guitar, and keep cutting until it looked right.

Looking at your link I find that the rounder tops are a much nicer form to my eye. Maybe I just like old stuff.

SM sells what they say is the 30's OM shape pickguard. You could always order one of those and stick it to a piece of MDF.

It showed up the right size on my monitor (I measured the soundhole diameter as a reference) so I just placed a piece of paper on the flat screen and traced around the pickguard.

I was going for that shape, but ended with this!

LMII seems to have suspended production of the Tor-Tis pickguards (there's a recent thread about that). When they have them on their web site, they usually make available useful templates, that don't appear there at the moment (or they're well hidden). I purchased a Martin Teardrop last year for a 00 and printed off the template:

It may not be identical to the one you pictured, but perhaps it's what you want? The squares are 1 x 1".

I have replaced many OM PGs, and they appear to have been hand shaped to some degree as they are not quite the same one to the next. Or not the ones I've dealt with, anyway.

That looks real close to the one's I made on the last two. These ones are a bit more squat though. That's good to know though I didn't know LMI did that.



Even in the pictures on that vintage guitar site it seems like you can see slight discrepancies in them.
