I used closed cell spray foam because it makes a vapor barrier. Also my shop was built on cement stilts with 2X12 rafter floor with oak floorboards across the rafters. So it was suspended above the ground. The closed cell foam also has structural properties to it so it interlocks all the floorboards.

Long thread! It may be buried somewhere in the thread, but I did not see anything about finishes.Living in Hawaii, my humidity is way up there. I've not really had any issues dealing with dehumidify in my 12 x 24 dry work room. It is a simple stud wall construction with Tyvek on the outside under 5/8" T-111 and sheet plastic on the inside under 3/8" plywood. I air condition it in the day and my dehumidifier rarely runs at night. What has been, and continues to be, an issue is spraying finishes. My booth is in the machine tool part of my shop, outside the dryroom and sometimes, when it is too wet,I just can't spray. Depending on what type of finish you plan to use, give your finish area some serious thought. Good luck, Bob
