Wow! That is one gorgeous bass! Not to go to far off topic...but....What is the brand name on those individual bridge pieces? The look very slick.

The bridge plates and saddles are made to our spec locally from 6061 aluminum bar stock and stainless hardware. The knobs and pickups are made in-house.

kmason, how long was the Laskin course? That sounds interesting.

Just a note. When gluing for a fret board I will glue face down with wax paper on a radius sanding block to get the fret board radius. If the pieces are the same thickness then I'll glue them up on top of the fret board. If I want some separation between the pieces(outline) I'll sharpee the edge of the piece and I'll sharpee the outside edge of the inlay where it meets the wood. You can also use colors other then black for another outline effect.
Nice rose inlay.
