Burton fear not. There is absolutly nothing wrong with those billets. Just orange coloring that makes the wood even prettier. bliss

Thanks for the replies guys, I am feeling a little better about this! Don, these are more, I got the rest of what they had, you have a set set aside for sure. I have no plans for it in the immediate future but I will still be careful testing it before I get too into it. Thanks again!

What a day. Woke up with the crud my wife had last week... just not so bad. Was spose to train in the mountains with 26 mile run... opted out of that. Still, I felt well enough to head over to the Osage wood I found. I eventually had two volunteers helping me. Cut most of it in 3-4 lengths. Some is very large. I kept 3 of the huge chuncks. The others took some too. Still have a bunch over there, may go back. Now I feel even worse. [xx(]

In case you haven't noticed, BobC at RC Tonewoods has a few sets left in stock, of the Argentine persuasion. If you want some, act now. It always goes fast!

My sawyer and I busted up a couple large hedge logs about five years ago. It is all stickered and has been air drying. I noticed the dark streaks in our Illinois hedge were almost purple. One can easily tell that the wood is weak along these lines. There was alot of cracking and separation in these areas.
