As a matter of fact the back of the head stock does have shallow recesses. Can this be filled using pumice, now that I've already used z-poxy on the initial pore fill? Here are the pics

Thank you Michael! So, when you first charge the Muneca, you leave it out in the open over night, rather than putting it in a jar with a few drops of alcohol?

Yes I saturate the inner muneca squeeze out the most of the excess, ball it up and let it set 10-14 hours min. I want it to harden to the state of toffee. If it gets a bit too hard you can give a bit of alcohol to soften it. But the viscosity of the shellac in the inner pad has a large affect on how the film is laid down and how much of each additive is used on each load up.

Yes it is never too late to pumice fill. keep in mind tht you will not be pulling any wood fibers now. the pumice will be acting somewhat like mirobeads so be darn sure you have cleared all the pumice on the pad before you use it and no more shellac till filled.

So what is the proper technique to "clear the pumice"?

He means wetting it on the muneca with alcohol. Never put it on the surface of the guitar, like is some of the tutorials. Dab the muneca into a bit on some paper, and then wet with a few drops of alcohol, and rub in a bit until you can't see any dry powder on the surface of the muneca.

Correct when properly wetted the pumice goes clear. This is why this is called clearing.

Thank you Gentlemen, I really appreciate all the information and tips you both have provided.
I'll hopefully be posting finish pictures of my 1st build soon.

Thanks again,
Rob
