Wow.........
I guess it's a blessing that I came back to the computer after 3:00.
If it was 2:45 I think it would be pretty clearly be a stormy night in the Long household tonight. beehive

My wife and I have don't ask don't tell policy. seriously, I have no probs in that dept because I only do this for a hobby, so far building only for friends. they pay for everything I build. this will be my #4, and friend is real happy.

wife only gets perturbed by how much time I spend on it.

Bwhahaha ... wait until she finds out you could be getting real money for those guitars! laughing6-hehe

Filippo

nice of you to say. I do charge a little but not much, just enough to acquire more tools.

I was honored to be asked to build with this stuff. my friend played my own guitar, my #1, then drove to elderly in Lansing, and played everything, and after that, told me he'd rather have me build him one.

that must feel quite honored to have him play all the production guitars and favor the sound of your (FIRST!!!) build over them. What plans was your first one based off of?

thanks...but he didn't exactly favor the sound of mine over ALL of them. he liked mine over everything up to about $2500. but the tony rice model, and the collings, and the golden era ... those were better. but they were also quite pricey, out of his range.

I've started building with this wood. got the rim started this weekend.

here's what i used for the ribbon side supports. it has a little cotton in the fabric. not that 100% polyester stuff like Wayne Henderson uses. ;)

the rosette has a combination of wood and plastic purflings in it. the blue-looking strip is actually white in-between two strips of plastic black. the WBW in the center is wood, and the grain will look interesting under finish, I think.

I started a job in Oct 2011 that has me commuting 1.5 hours, each way. Since then, I haven't been building much. But this guitar is getting nearer to completion and I hope to gitrdone within the next few months.
