Hey Hesh, your health is no joke. A few years back I had a heart cath procedure and got to watch it on a monitor in real time. During the procedure the doctor told me he was sending a DVD copy to my family doctor. I asked him if I could get a couple of extra copies. He thought it was an odd request and asked why ? I said one for each of my ex-wives. This gave the phrase 'dying of laughter' a whole new meaning.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, there's a lot of love around here for you.

Brent

A very sincere thanks to everyone for your very valued well wishes AND prayers.

I'm out, sprung, free range Heshy again.... :)

It was as suspected but a combination of some things kept it small and likely I'm told but it will take several months to know didn't do any permanent damage. They think it was stress induced and I do have a lot on my plate with all I'm trying to do.

They told me that being the walker that I've been for several years now, I walk a couple miles a day at a brisk pace, quitting smoking nearly four years ago now and my voluntary low/no salt diet likely saved my life. My weight is good too with low body fat index. Nice to see suffering turned into an investment with a return. :). Where's the ice cream darn it. :)

No restrictions for me beyond they seriously asked me to step back from watching (and listening to) CNN as much as I do. It's like around six hours a day and of course all that results is I get very pissed off over and over again... :? :D

So I just took a walk and feel fine. Hope to be back at work Friday. I love my work. :)

Thanks again I'm very, very happy to have such very fine friends as you guys.

Good news Hesh. Take it easy, take a long rest from the news channels, avoid the press and paparazzi...….

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Six minutes of CNN would land me at the cardiologists office I'm afraid. Glad to hear you're doing better.

I agree with most of what Ernie has found to be useful for him. Where I differ is on how he chooses to deal with media, politics, and negative people.

I think exposing one's self to enough media to be an informed citizen is important. I also think regular people voting and engaging in some amount of political activity is important. Overdosing on the 24/7/365 news cycle is not good for anybody, so don't do that, but completely disconnecting from the political process is not a good plan, either.

And regarding negative people: Negative people are everywhere. You can't just eliminate them from your life, or else you will be a hermit in a cabin. You can, however, limit your dosage. Moreover, let's not forget that, sometimes, the negative people are telling us the truth. I see people who create and live inside bubbles of unreality, because they reject everything that doesn't make them feel awesome all of the time. That's no more healthy for a person than living inside a bubble of negativity.

Everything in moderation. That's what makes the most sense to me.

Other than those things, I think Ernie is right on target for how to be healthier in this life.
