I took a similar approach to Burton's, although I just lined the caul with cork. I'm stealing the flexible kerfs idea.

I am unclear how the bridge (or an improperly clamped bridge) is causing this. Seems more structural to me? The Fox (LMII) clamp gets so little love around here. https://www.lmii.com/clamps-vises/2584- ... tring.html

I love that thing, but I had to learn how to set it up. Mine has padding in certain places, padded blocks for the wings. Just ordered another to keep me busy when one is in use. I found that by putting candle wax on the through bolts, I could avoid glue locking the threads.

If u use like in the picture, you will regret it. I cant figure out why they do not show a better "typical use"

To close this one out, I ended up using the vacuum to clamp up the bridge. The instrument has been strung up for a couple days and the issue appears to be resolved.

I’m fairly certain I way over tightened the feet over the wings which distorted the top as there was no caul directly below the wings.

Lesson learned, stick with what you know I guess. :)

Thanks for all the helpful tips, I’m sure they will be useful in the future.

Brad
