It's done! I got 4 side sets and 3-1/2 backs. I was left with one back piece, the thickness of veneer in my attempt to cut it with the table saw. After that, i cut the billet down to 6" wide and cut the rest on my little 1/2hp bandsaw. It went pretty well. I also have a piece that's about 1/4" that may work as fingerboards.

Im satisfied with the results and the knowledge that i can cut my own wood if I so desire. Of course, they will always be 3 piece backs.
