I would like to run two different style piezo pickups to one pan pot for tone blending.

Size and room is limited.   The main problem is that piezo pickups have high impedances, and cant be hooked up directly to a normal pan pot.

I would like to place two different style piezo pickups on strategic spots on the instrument, and then blend the tones using a pan knob or lever.

How can this best be accomplished, with the maximum amount of sensitivity to the lower tones (this is for a bass) and with the minimum amount of instrumentation (room and space)?

You're going to have to do this actively one way or another.   Piezos do not lend themselves to adjustable passive mixing...
