I am moving along on my first solo build , got the mahogany sides ( bought them prebent) tight in the forms , and glued in both blocks . I have noticed though , near the upper bout, close the to shoulders on both sides , a small bit of run-out , it appears as a little chaffing , or even like fish scales, where the very end of the grain ( one grain on each side, about an inch or so wide )is lifting ever so slightly ,at the out side of the tightest part of the bend . just to make a ridge there i can feel if I run my finger over the sides .. it does not appear to be a crack or structural. my first thought is to use some CA and sawdust to stabilize the crack and fill the void made by the lifting , which I should be able to sand flat later. or I was wondering if hide glue might be a better choice here since it will shrink . can wood dust be added to hide glue for colorization ? or maybe that's not neccessary . any input is greatly appreciated! thanks Jody
