This morning I finished #15 which is based on the very fine OLF SJ plans by Michael Payne.

Since from the weather forecast it looks like there will not be any sun here for weeks I decided to do the best I could with the photographs and post them anyway.

This guitar is going to a dear friend and will be delivered to him Saturday at Uncle Bob's (Zootman - RC Tonewoods) in Buffalo. After that event you will be able to hear some various opinions on the tone, playability, etc.

Specs:

Mahogany back and sides - Uncle Bob, RC Tonewoods
Bearclaw top - Shane, High Mountain Tonewood
Neck - Hog and Maple lam, John at CNC Guitar Parts
Finish - Joe White at Sunset Finishing
Mahog-O-Lam wood purflings - Uncle Bob, RC Tonewoods

Hesh, you must slow down man, take time to smell the roses!

Oh, nice guitar, mahogany/lutz should make a great sounding guitar. Workmanship looks up to your usual standard, but boy does that guitar look pregnant! More details please.

Man, that stinks! How could you put another guitar out there?

Is it because it is another stinkin guitar that someone else is going to get it, rather than going into your harem?

It looks great, Hesh. Once again a stellar instrument. Nice job. Image Image Image Image Image

Simple, no bling and beautiful Hesh!! One day I hope to get my hands on one of your guitars to hear them for myself. I know in advance I am going to like it!

I know the new owner of this one will be mighty proud to have it too.

That is one nice looking guitar! Very classy.

Yes, and the back has all those stretch marks, what up with that? :o

Great job Hesh, I like your style.

So this is your first polyester finished guitar, correct? How do you like it so far compared to your previous finishes (what were they, anyways?)?

Hesh--

The guitar is as usual, gorgeous! I really do like the purfling on it. It was a treat to see it right after Joe did the finish. Can't wait for the tone report next week. Be sure to leave a little in the zoot cave for the rest of us! :D :D :D

Hesh their are a lot of people on this forum that I have come to respect for their skills and knowledge you and Dave White are among them. You and Dave in addition (even though we have never met in person) have become inspirations to me.

Your new baby is beautiful I wish I lived close so I could hold her for a little while..

Great wood, harmonius form and exceptional workmanship - nothing else is required to produce an exquisite creation. I wish I could be there when your buddy's jaw hits the floor.

Congrats,
Max

Post subject:  Re: Another Stinkin Guitar..... (Pics)

Many thanks everyone!!! :P

OK some more specs:

weight - 3.8lbs
scale - 25.4
fret board, rosette, bindings, end graft, bridge, - that wood that we can't talk about here......aka: stump wood

This is my first guitar that Joe White has finished for me and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. The finish is perfect IMHO in all respects and my gray days of Michigan winter pics really do not show the beauty of this finish or the wood.

One of my goals on this guitar was to get better at set-ups and I had a lot of help with this one from David Collins who generously showed me many things about fretting. David also buffed the frets and the fret board on this one with his new process that really pops the figure and color of a fret board and more importantly removes all the scratches from the frets and leaves a super smooth fret.

Hopefully in Buffalo this Saturday and because I am bring a bottle of high-end scotch I might get someone to do a sound clip that I can post here.

For now all I can say is that this guitar has the same voice as my last 6 which I personally find pleasing. It has good, tight bass, sweet trebles, and strong mids and is balanced well to my ear. It plays better then any of my previous guitars and the entire accessible neck is easy to play.
