It use to be on the old software that when you clicked on a link it opened up a new browser window. The new software jumps to the link instead of opening up a new window. I just double checked my browser settings and it is set to open a new window when a pop-up is clicked but there is no option for clicking on a picture or link (I suspect it has to do with the forum software, not my browser).

Anyway, I know I could right click and "open link in new window" but I'm just wondering if the new forum software can open new windows when clicking on a picture or link rather than just jumping to the picture or link in the same window.

A poll here would be nice to see what the other forum members would like.

Lance, there is another issue that I noticed, concerning PM. When you are answering a PM from someone else, you cannot see the message. This makes it hard to answer in kind, unless you open the reply in another window, which I suppose I could do. I know the old software had the old message quoted in the reply, which made it visible while you were typing. It's a low priority, but could it be addressed at some point?

To add to the list, Search is all messed up. You cant search topic only. You can try it, but you will never get any results. Some common words dont return any results. Try koa...nothing. Good thing the old system is still up to search the archives. I recomend leaving it up until this gets squared away.

Waddy bro I noticed that too and here is my work around: I highlight the text of the original PM and "copy" it into the reply screen annotated by the "replay" button..... Once it is in the reply screen I write my reply and then highlight the original message text and delete it. Keeps me fighting with the right person at all times......

If you hit the "quote" button instead of "replay" it will reply to the message with the original message quoted, just like replying to a thread in the forum.

I think maybe it has a problem with three letter or shorter words. If you search for "rosewood" instead of "koa" you'll get more normal results in any of the search types (topic only, subject and message text, etc). I don't know if that's an easily changed setting or not.

Seems to me that if you hit the "Replay" button, it should do just that, and replay the message in your reply screen. :D

Yeah but let's show some appreciation here - so what if Lance and Brock had the new software set up on the cheap and outsourced it to India - it's still a big improvement....... :D

You know I was just kidding with my stupid remark above.

I know, I know, this begs the question: am I kidding with all the other stupid things that I say........

Nothing stupid about it... After all we ARE small business people.

I know there are gremlins in this beast still... and as much as we think we have it licked there are still some log in problems. Once that is fully dealt with there is a punch list of stuff for them to work on.

I think things that are true bugs we want to hear about... for sure. But for now at least let's table the "I wish it worked like this" conversations.... we just have so much on our plate that I don't want to overload the cart...

but Hesh... if you want your clapping hands let us know how and were to upload more emoticons and we will oblige... ;)
