I'm going to try to post some photos of my second build. This one is EIRW Back & sides, Carpathian spruce top, sycamore binding, and cocobolo rosette and head plate design. The photos are a little fuzzy, but hopefully, we'll be able to see them... It looks like I may be limited to 3 pictures. That's all I see in the preview. I reduced the size of the files to about 100kb. ...oh yeah, it's a tru-oil finish... [img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img] |

Thanks Guys, I posted some more pictures but they didn't show up. I'll try to post some more when I get home from work. I've got a nice shot of the back showing the shine in the tru-oil. Waddy, I applied z-poxy, leveled, and then began appyling tru-oil. After several (6-8) coats, about 3 hours in between, I lightly "brushed" with 0000 synthetic wool (gray) and then with the white stuff, then I applied several more coats, let dry for 3-4 days and used McGuire's "Scratch X". The tru-oil was easy to apply and the smell was not bad. Since it is cold here in North Carolina this time of year in my garage/shop, I did the finishing in my spare bedroom ("music room"). |

Very well done. So...what's the plan for number 3 or are you going to take some time to enjoy the newest addition? |

Steve, I'm in Charlotte. We have a pretty good NC contingent on OLF. I'd like to see some other pictures showing the sheen of the Tru-Oil. I'm in the throws of deciding what I want to use on my guitar when done. |

Steve: Looks good. I am also in North Carolina and waiting on the weather to get more consistently warm so I can work in the garage. I am in Cary. |

You must be one proud parent. Most parents brag about how pretty or handsome their offspring are, but you definitely have some bragging rights. That's one gorgeous addition to the family. No. 2? Looks like you have your chops down pat. Vince |

OK, I said I would show some more photos when I got home from work... Waddy (another OLFer from NC) wanted to see some of the shine from tru-oil... [img][/img] [img][/img] [img][/img] Hey Greg - I'm very close to Cary. Maybe we'll have to get together sometime and check out the shops... |

Steve: That sounds good. Right now my shop tends to be where ever I put things down to work - Often on top of a pool table. But I am trying to improve the garage |

The Tru-Oil has a nice sheen to it does it not. I like that. Decisions, Decisions! By the way, Paul Harrell, is in Pittsboro, so he's not far away from you guys. |

Nicely done Steve. Pretty detail on the peghead and rosette. Your work looks very clean, especially so for number two. I too live in NC, barely. Almost live in Tennessee. We should have a Carolina OLF gettogether some day. I volunteer Bill Green as the Host. John |

A North Carolina gathering would be great. I am sure that I am well behind everyone on building and playing, so I might need to be the comic relief. |

Cool headplate, and looks much better than my #2 did. I'm in NC as well; I live and work in Raleigh but spend a good bit of time in Asheville. |

Lex, I am also in Raleigh and used to live in Asheville... We like guitars here in N. Carolina... Have you posted some pics of your efforts here on the OLF? Steve |

Lots of nice details and I like the finish, too. Not too glassy. |
