Has anybody heard about the Nashville Guitar Show taking place at the Factory in Franklin this weekend? I just heard about it this morning.I was wondering if any OLF members will be there? I`m thinking about checking it out and dragging a geetar with me.It would be fun to meet some OLFer`s if any are attending. James W B |

James, I guess no one has ever heard of it. Let us know what you find. It seems to me that once ASIA met in Nashville, quite a few years back. May have had nothing to do with this show? I remember Frank Ford posting some pics about his trip there. Don't forget your camera. Oh by the way, there is a watercolor artist there in the Factory at Franklin. His name is Dean Shelon. If you see him, please say hello. We studied under the same artist: Stephen Naegle http://www.deansheltonartwork.com/index_files/Dean.htm http://www.naeglefriends.org http://www.deansheltonartwork.com/index_files/gallery.htm Here is a page of thumbnails of his work. Pickers, fiddlers, and all kinds of stuff. Oh, have a good time too! |

Well ,I went to the show.It was all about vintage instruments.Mostly electric. There was only 1 booth with a builder named Hollenbach, who built some nice archtops. So nothing really to take pictures of.We`ve all seen tons of Les Pauls etc.Bruce I looked around in the mall and couldn`t find your buddy.I did run into and spoke a minute to George Gruhn, who was after the usual suspects. Old Martins. There were a few of them in the 20-30 thousand range.A bit to rich for my blood. The highlight of the day was going to Artisan Guitar Store, also in the mall. They had a few of Tim McKnights guitars in the store. They were absolutely spectacular. So for anyone coming to Nashville in the future ,be sure to check Tim`s guitars out, very special. Is the "artisan guitar store" a new store? I havent been to the nashville mall for a few years, last time I was there the gibson store was a zoo and the instruments had handled by too many people. |

Judge the Artisan is at a mall called The Factory in Franklin Tennessee. It`s just a few miles south of Nashville proper,on franklin Road.I`m not sure how long the store has been there.I know at least a few years. James |

I have a couple of posts on the forum about visiting Artisan guitars, and specifically playing one of Tim's Guitars. Paul Woolson had a gorgeous Red archtop up there a few weeks ago. Artisan has been around for at least 2 years, I'm sure. I hate I missed the show, but we're going up to Nashville this weekend. I usually try to stop by Artisan every time we go that way. The proprietors are extremely nice. |
