I wanted to make a post to both thank you all for your undying patients as we
made the switch to the new OLF, and also to point out a few things that keep
popping up.

First, if you are still having log in issues, please contact me via lance@kragenbrinkguitars.com
there seem to be a few stragglers that still need fixen. I will fix them just as soon as I get the notice and
can do it.

Second, the new site is what it is. There are a lot of great features, and there are some things that
are not the same as the old site. For better or worse, this IS the new OLF. I have been taking a few
hits over the last two weeks via emails and PMs from people expressing there extreme displeasure with the
new software. I'm not going to apologize, it is what it is. This change over took a LOT of hard work and a LOT of money.

We cant make everybody happy all of the time, but we do try our best.

I hope if you find your self unhappy with something about the OLFs new software, you can just except it. Overall I think we have made a quantum leap from the old site. Dont you?

I hope that everyone is please with the change. If not please dont YELL AT ME ;)

Thanks
Lance

Thanks, Lance. I think the new site is cool. Faster, and much better search! No complaints here.

HEY LANCE!!!!!!!! :D

I just wanted to say thanks - the new software is fantastic in ALL respects and I don't have a single complaint. Bet you never thought that you would hear that...... :D

Well I lied........ :D

You guys still owe me 9,600 posts on top of what it says now [headinwall] [headinwall] [headinwall] [headinwall] [headinwall] :D

So always being one to suggest a solution here is one for you: This software will allow you under "rankings" to assign individual members to a status - for example BRW, pallet wood, etc. Even if you can't find a way to correct the post count would you please make me a BRW or pallet wood for that matter? I just don't want to be a koa.

Many thanks and the software is great........ :D [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Lance...the only members I know who have ever had "undying patients" are Dr. Terry Kennedy and Dr. Andy Zimmerman.
Michael Payne spelling school graduate, huh?!

As far as myself, I have given "undying patience" for the most part and thank you for the great effort and results.

Does this mean we'll live forever..:o ? I guess a 'Spell-Check' is out of the question....

I think the new site is great Lance. A major upgrade from the old one. The 'Search Function' is superb & lightning quick. A big plus for us rookies. And the disappearing 'edit button' keeps us wondering...lol. THANKS!

The new software is great.

Rich, if you switch to Firefox, it provides a spell checker.

Lance and Brock, I love the new digs here. Most excellent. The spead alone should make everyone happy. Sorry that there will always be some who find something to complain about. Next time just shoot me their names and we'll have a nice set of cement boots made up for them ;)

Hey Hesh, they could have made you "dirt" status, that might have been fitting

Kudos to you Lance and Brock. This is a big improvement. The speed is fantastic and after you get the hang of it posting photos is no big deal. Nice job!

I like the new setup, and the speed is awesome, but somehow the software still drops me without warning from time to time. Just now, I was logged on and got loged off when I went to post a reply. I logged back in, and got dropped again; the reply showed up as being from 'guest'. I'm logged in now, so let's see if this one sticks.

Alan Carruth (in case it does it again)

Mike (or anybody who's getting the search to work well? please!)-
I'm still unable to get the search to work properly. Could somebody explain how to set the search parameters to display a list of all the threads aka topics that (say) Alan Carruth has started? I can't get this to work at all, even though I do understand that there doesn't seem to be any 'All Forums' choice- just the threads in the Archive that Alan has started would be a useful result for me...

Thanks in advance for your help.

John

John, I don't think there is an option for "who started" a thread type search. Also, if you want multiple forums, you can just hold the control key down and select the forums you want to search under. I tryed a search for Alan Carruth under all forums and got 996 matches. I tryed searching with the "first post of topic" selected but it didn't matter, I got all of Alan's posts.

Maybe Lance or Brock can change the search patterns, maybe not. I bet they will look into it at sometime though.

Im not sure you can search on a thread starter, but if you put Alan Carruth in the author field and as Rod says, highlight all the forums you wish to search, here is what you get.

Yes - but you'll need a CITES certificate to prove it though if you ever want to leave the country 8-)

Just make sure you keep the old system running for the archives.
