Well, i didnt really like it so I put it aside and started this new one.

I changed the strat template to more of a P.R.S. shape, which I like way better.
I learn as i go.....

Matt...Great looking top and beautifully executed!

So are you planning to finish the first effort or burn it...I sure hope it's the former and not the latter.

BTW, I'm going through a similar interest in electrics and having a lot of fun...mostly brought on by my sons' interests. What prompted your detour from acoustics?

Looking really nice, Matt!
I`m building an electric at the moment, myself.
That`s page 33 of the Carvin catalog isn`t it? ;)

Thanks JJ.

I was just getting a little burnt out... I went through some serious post healdsburg blues. Then about a month ago and old friend of mine who i grew up with but had`nt seen in 25 yrs. called me out of the blue. he told me about a 5 string bass he was building and was wondering if i would help him get it finished.

At first I thought, oh boy here we go...what have i gotten into now, good grief.
but to my surprise he walked in with this... then i thought, wow! thats cool.... I havn`t owned an electric in years, and have always been intrested in through body designs.
the rest is history.

Hey Coe, you busted me...

it is indeed the Page 33 of the carvin catalog... that catalog has inspired me more than once. Way back many years ago, my 5th guitar was a thin body acoustic with a flamed maple top like the carvin. I used it as a stage guitar, it had a fishman pick up in it.

Dont worrie guys, I`m almost over this electric kick, and will be back to my acoustics very soon, that is as soon as I can win my soul back from the devil.

Matt

Matt, I dig the PRS like template and that top will look awesome! Are you going to add color or burst to the top?

Thanks Hesh,

Thanks Joe.... I am at that point where i`m trying to decide whether or not to go clear, or a sunburst of some kind.

I love clear, but feel like it would be a "cop out" not to do a tastefull burst of some sort.
I am also affraid of making a fruity-tootie looking burst, so i go back to playing it safe with clear...... oh my world, my world.... I cant decide.

Matt
