Hi folks,
I'm fixing up a real cheep 335 knock off for a friend of mine.
It had a tune-o-matic style bridge, but is missing the bridge. So I'm replacing it, the trouble is though the new holes need to be spaced an additional .092" apart (each hole needs to move over .046"). Also the old hole were 1/4" the new ones are to be 9/32". No problem making them bigger but how to deal with the new spacing? I thought I'd make a bushing with some maple, clamp it in place and the drill will cut away the wood where it needs to. I don't know much about the 335 but I thought that this guitar had a central log of wood running from neck to tail. This guitar has a post under the center of the bridge, so the only thing supporting those tune-o-matic studs is the maple laminates.
Thanks for any advice,
Stefan
