Post subject: | Router Template Guide Question |
I need a router template guitar for a 1-5/8" diameter bit. Does anyone know where I can find one with a 1-3/4" ID for PC or Bosch? PC has one at 1-35/64" but that's the largest I've seen. I'm thinking I may have to have one machined. Any suggestions? Thanks, Don |

That's a big bit, just wondering why your locked in to using a bit that size. |

If you can find the right size tubing, you could make a plywood base plate with a 1-3/4" hole and epoxy in a piece of tubing. You should be able to make something as safe and secure as the screw in kind. Even something like ABS could work if you can deal with the thicker wall and greater offset. |

Don, You mean a guide??? Again, just curious, what are you doing with it that you need that large a bit? I would think have one machined may likely be your only option. Thanks Peter |

Thanks for the advise everyone. I have a very specific application and this size bit is the only one that will provide the results I need. I've been searchint the internet all day and haven't come up with one. So I guess the next step is to make one or have one machined. Are there any michinists on this forum that I can send business to? Thanks Again. |

Now I'm confused. Are you talking about a guide that mounts on the base like these? Or a bearing bit that size? |
