Just got done tonight laminating a neck. I had trouble keeping the pcs. from shifting around while clamping(used Titebond Original). Is there a way to keep this from happening? Can a person put your pcs. together for a minute or two , then "put the screws to it"?

That helps but doesn't eliminate the problem. You can put in some small dowells or other locator pins if you can find a place to bury them that they will never be exposed. An easy way is to drive in a couple of small brads maybe 1/8", snip them off a little proud, sharpen the end a bit with a file, align the pieces and clamp.

Another option is some kind of fixture to hold the edges flush.

Sometimes I clamp pieces in a vice to begin with since the wood shifts less in the vice. Then I add the other clamps and remove the piece from the vice and clamp that section. Another way is to have stops at the ends of the pieces so they won't shift.

Progressive application of pressure...slowly clamp from one end to the other kind of as you'd tighten lug nuts on a wheel...opposites, and then the "in betweens". And try WEST Epoxy instead of Titebond. No problemo... And no cold creep in 25 years.
