Hi fellow Europeans, do any of you have a source for the patternmaker's vise (or "guitar repair vise" as Stewmac calls it) on our side of the Atlantic? I found it at Dick GMBH in Germany, but they charge about twice as much as Stewmac for it (and Japan Woodworker sells it for $20 less than Stewmac...). As I understand it, this is exacly the same vise, Dick is not selling the original, better(?) made one.

Anyways, shipping from the US to Norway will cost about as much as the vise, shipping from Germany is only 15 EUR (or free if I buy stuff for 300 EUR), so they end up about the same.

If anyone found one in Europe at a better price than Dick GMBH, please speak up!

Thanks, Tony! I checked, it seems the vise was originally made by Ulmia, Cumpiano calls it "the Ulmia Universal vice" but google didn't turn up much useful with those words. Didn't find it on Ulmia's web page either, but I did find one place in Germany selling the same copy of the "Multi-Spannstock" as Dick (for the same price)...

Arnt,
madinter.com in spain has it for 20 euros less. They also have a lot of nice stuff with good prices. But I don't know about the shipping to Norway. Check them out.
