I need some help wioth ordering strings for a couple of instruments.

First of all, I have a soprano uke inthe shop for repairs that I need to string up. What strings should I choose for this?

Next, I am building a flamenco based on the 1952 Barbero plans. What strings are reccommended for this guitar?

Ken, I don't know on the uke, but the Flamenco strings, since that's a commission, you might want to find out what kind of strings your customer likes. I'm sure Dave or some of the other guys with more experience will chime in, but Savarez or Hannabach make fine strings. Not sure which you would choose for a Flamenco though.

Ken-
I've gotten good advice (and prices, and service) from

You might give him a ring. He mentioned in an email to me that Brad is in the office on Fri/Sat and is the classical expert.

Aquila uke strings are my favorite, and unless players have a preference otherwise they have become my standard.

As to strings for the guitar, I'll leave that advice to others. Brad does know a lot about classical strings though, and is a good person to email.

I'll 2nd the Aquila uke strings. I've tested several brands and found these to be the best out there. Best of luck!

Hi Ken,

For flamenco I use D'Addario EXP 45 normal tension classical guitar strings. Hannabach strings are also popular - A lot of players I used to know used Savarez, but I don't see them much any more.

Regards,
Max

For medium price strings, I like Augustine Imperial or Regal.
