Post subject:  Finishing inside of travel guitar- glue adhesion to shellac

I'm building a size 0 12 fret to use as a travel guitar. I'm going to make the neck easily removable by putting the attachment bolts down through the heel of the neck. I want to finish the inside of the guitar to help stabilize it through different humidity conditions. I'm thinking to use a couple of coats of shellac on the inside. I can't see an easy way to do a neat shellac job after the body is completely assembled, so I'm thinking to do it just before I put the top on. Will the top glue OK to the linings if there is a coat of shellac on it? I'm planning to use Titebond to fasten the top down. TIA...

Before gluing the plates, how about putting the rim down onto the top with the braces up, and tracing along the linings onto the top and masking that area off?

Yeah, I think masking both the linings and top is probably the safest route. I'll still
sand lightly before the final glue-up- that's a good idea to get rid of any residue
from the tape.

Thanks [:Y:]
