Okay, I just remembered I have to replaced the drill press I sold when we moved...I'd like the OLF's input before I buy...my old one was a 1000 yr. old craftsman floor model...I'm thinking of a "tabletop" model this time for weight issues (carrying it up the stairs [xx(] )...as far as power, throat clearance (for want of a better term), and the like...the biggest thing it'd have to rotate is my Greven rosette cutter...what do you guys and girls think? TIA.

I have the smallest Shop Fox model because I need to move it and put it away when I use it. They have a model that's just over $200 which is a larger tool but still technically a bench top.

The feature that differentiated it from others for me was it's ability to oscillate. Connecting a belt between it's pulleys makes the chuck oscillate up and down. I think it has an inch and a half of travel.

I also bought the drum mandrel kit Grizzly lists as an accessory for the drill press and have a nice little drill press and oscillating spindle sander. The vacuum port is in the perfect place, so I don't have any dust in the air at all when I'm sanding.

You Sold What?.................. laughing6-hehe

Larry.................

R U okay? idunno

I've owned two old Craftsman drill presses.

After selling my bench model, easily 40 years old at the time..... I went into withdrawal....

It took me almost ten years to find another, a floor model... I jumped on it. If I had to take it apart into pieces, I'd do it....

Two people can carry one no problem.

Good luck in your search..... [:Y:]
