Hi folks, just wondering if i could get some advice regarding truss rods?
I'm currently building an OM and a les paul style set net electric with adjustment from the peghead.
The problem is, I'm not really sure how long a length the rod should be. The body joint of the
set neck is at the 16th fret (22 fret guitar), and most truss rods from LMI,Stew-mac,etc. seem
too be to long...17-18 inches overall length! Extending past the body joint...
Sorry about the novice question!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The truss rod on the LP extends down into the tenon. The long one works fine.
