Sorry guys, but I can't help but posting this sapele one I just fininshed. I have been burning the midnight oil on it trying to get it ready for a festival coming up next week. I would have posted a couple of closeups, but the camera batteries went "paws up" on me and I don't have any extra I really love the sapele...beautiful wood, nice tone to the guitar. Thanks for looking! |

Don’t ever say sorry Brad, I personally love to see guitar pictures. That is one of the reasons why I love this forum so much. BTW nice guitar. |

Beautiful guitar Get us some more pics when the batteries recharge. I've got my first Sapelle guitar on my bench, ready to attach the top. It's really nice to see what the wood will look like under a finish. |

Lovely guitar there Brad. I'm looking forward to seeing more/better/closeup photos of it I'm a big sapele fan - I've got several nice sets with various amounts of figure waiting in the wings..... Cheers, Dave F. |

Thanks, guys I really appreciate it . I am extremely pleased with it. I'll get some closeups when I'm able and post them. This one has tortoise color binding, with a chevron zipper strip, black/white side purfs mitered at the tail wedge, black white stripe also under the headplate (another inspiration I found here!). |

Beautiful guitar Brad! I'm partial to the Sapele too. This one looks like it has the 3D features in the grain, which really makes an eye popping finish. Good job! |

It does, Ken. It reminds me of those picture card things you used to get that would move or animate when you turned them back and forth. Very nice wood. Pore filling was a breeze compared to honduran mahogany, too! |

You Tuckers are busy guys. All really nice stuff. How did you find the Sapele to bend? A friend of mine gave me a few boards he got from some old ferry boat piles he cut up. Pretty nice piling timber! It feels like it could be a little on the brittle side. Nice Work, Danny |

I really like the more rounded bottom to your dred. You have to love that sapele sound, more punch than mahogany but warmer than rosewood. Beautiful guitar! |

Ken, I concur about the sound...I think you hit the nail on the head. Danny, it is rather stiff and I had to bend it slowly. I actually think Indian rosewood is easier to bend. |
