I am building a Martin O sized guitar. John Hall and Brad Goodman were kind enough to have sent me specs for the top bracing pattern, I am now in need of the back pattern.

If anyone out there has the brace specs and spacing I would really appreciate it if you could provide same.

Many thanks,
Anthony

I saved this image from a post on here not long ago. I dont recall whose post it was. I believe it was from a 1937 0-18. Might be helpful to you.

here is what I would do AZ.....

spacings are from the neck joint for the braces ....

4, 7.25, 10.75 14.75

I am planning to make all my small guitars with the same back braces from now on ... .5 tall, .250 wide. I used to use a .400 wide by .590 tall (still do on larger guits) for the rear two.

Warren, Tony and Todd, thanks for the info. My suspicion is that doing exactly the "Martin" way isn't critical. Tony thanks for the guidance on dimensions as otherwise I would have done the braces in the lower bout area much more "beefy".

I've tried to reach John Hall w/o success but suspect I will be just fine with the info provided.

Thanks again,
Anthony
