Looking great Brad. Nice headstock shape. I like the inset tuners, keeps it beefier up there that way. Some really nice curves, very inspiring for those of who want to someday build one of these LOW BOYS.

Here are the latest pics my first "from scratch" 5 string bass. The top is quilted maple over an ash back. The neck is 5 pieces of maple. The fingerboard and headstock plate are ebony. For hardware I am using Gotoh tuners, a Hipshot bridge, and Bartolini J pickups with vol/blend/bass/treble circuit. I still need to fret and finish but so far I am pleased with the results. Looking good Brad! I also love the recessed tuners! The first time I saw that as on a CFox guitar, the next was an Evertt. Great touch! |

I kind of got the idea from my Pedulla bass which has the rear electronics compartment cover constructed from the same wood as the body. I thought it would be an interesting way to do the truss rod cover. I like the way it turned out and would certainly do it again. |
