Post subject:  Top thickness on OLF SJ?

I have a really stiff adi top from Colonial Tonewoods for my OLF SJ. I was looking to go near .1 on the thickness after the rosette was finished and flush. Any thoughts from those familiar with the SJ plans?

Donovan buddy as you know every top is different. But if as you indicated this top is pretty stiff I don't see a problem with going .1 with Adi.

The SJ that I built for Anthony Z. has a Lutz top that I believe was around .105 in final thickness.

Thanks Hesh, I was hoping you would chime in. I was sure you had built the SJ. I am going to get close to that and see. It is .15 now and doesn't flex much. Thanks for the input. [:Y:]

As many know the OLFSJ is flat out a copy of my SJ. I have built 3 with Addie and 7 more with variious other Spruce. 99% of all the SJ spruce tops I thicknessed to .115-.120 to start with and thinned as needed for flex and tap tone My guess since I here at work and not the shop is the Addies came in at about .110 on average. I have one Addie for an SJ on the bench right now at .115 but have not thinned it yet
