Thanks Hesh, I was hoping you would chime in. I was sure you had built the SJ. I am going to get close to that and see. It is .15 now and doesn't flex much. Thanks for the input.

I have a really stiff adi top from Colonial Tonewoods for my OLF SJ. I was looking to go near .1 on the thickness after the rosette was finished and flush. Any thoughts from those familiar with the SJ plans? Donovan |

Donovan buddy as you know every top is different. But if as you indicated this top is pretty stiff I don't see a problem with going .1 with Adi. The SJ that I built for Anthony Z. has a Lutz top that I believe was around .105 in final thickness. |

As many know the OLFSJ is flat out a copy of my SJ. I have built 3 with Addie and 7 more with variious other Spruce. 99% of all the SJ spruce tops I thicknessed to .115-.120 to start with and thinned as needed for flex and tap tone My guess since I here at work and not the shop is the Addies came in at about .110 on average. I have one Addie for an SJ on the bench right now at .115 but have not thinned it yet |
