Here are a couple of people playing my guitars this past weekend. Don Alder beating the snot out of my dread and Kinloch nelson making musical love to the same guitar.

Hope you enjoy!

Bach sounds great on your guitar! I guess we can let that second part go, as alot of Bach/Renaissance/Baroque music is rooted in folk music. :D Nickel Creek comes to mind. bliss

Ken,

Nice one - you should be proud having someone of the stature of Dan Alder playing your guitar. Looks like you had a good time at Miami.

This guitar was bought by a guy who was buying it for his 16 year old son. He called the son to come upstairs to play it and when he arrived I cringed a little because of the boys appearance.

I was in shock when the kid started playing classical music... that didnt fit his appearance at all. Then he played some bluegrass and then some hard rock on it. The kid was in heaven when he was playing it. His last comments were: "This guitar will sneek up on you and kick your A$$ !!"

I'm pretty sure that is the comment that sold the guitar bliss

Ken,

Sounds to me like there's probably a whole bunch of people that now know you're "a contender."

Congratulations on a sale, on having Don Alder wham-bam-thank-ye-ma'am play your guitar on stage, and for the exposure you received!

Way to go!

Dennis

Hi Ken,
Great to meet you at the show!
Did you take the video yourself or did they tape these performances? I know they had a live feed to the monitors in the gallery but didn't know if they taped.....?.......
I'd sure like to get a copy of pieces Muriel Anderson or Michael Chapdelaine played on mine..........

Best
David

Ken, they both sound great. Sounds like you had a great show, congratulations

I really like the second video, I love the bwv 996 Bach Bouree, I've been trying to learn to play that for the last few months--fun, but the time I'm putting into it is putting a drag on my building.

Post subject:  Re: want to hear my guitars?

Thanks again for the kind comments. When I went to the show, I felt like I was making pretty good guitars, but you never know until you get a chance to see, hear and play other builders guitars. I had fears that I would be "out classed" when I got tothe show, but I found out that my fears were unjustified.

I still see areas where I can make improvements, and I now know some of the things I need to do to get my guitars up to my full potential. I guess I am my own worst critic. I am just happy to see that I was accepted by my peers at the show. Their help and suggestions were taken to heart and I feel like I have a better grasp of the whole business side of the business now.

David,

They did the professional recordings of the mini-concerts and I am pretty sure they will be available for purchase in the next couple of weeks. When I asked about buying them, I was told to wait a couple of weeks and then to send Henry an e-mail requesting info on it. I would suggest you do the same. I just hope they arent too expensive [headinwall]

I want to give everybody on this forum a heart felt THANK YOU for all of the tips, tricks, and suggestions I have recieved over the last couple of years. All of these have been extremely beneficial to me and have helped me in my building and business goals. I have found that the OLF members I have met on the forum are even friendlier and more helpful when you meet them in person than they seem on here. What a GREAT community of people to call friends!
