I'm working from the Antes parlor plan. The top and bracing plan is all drawn out on the same in the same frame. There is nothing to distinguish left/right or treble/bass side. It shouldn't be a big deal, but I'm ready to glue the lower leg on and can't decide whether it should be closest to the bridge plate on the treble or bass side. It runs diagonal. So the question is... should it be closer to the bride plate on the treble or bass side? thanks Dave |

thanks Howard. It does beg another question that lingered after I hit the send button. (warning, can 'o worms about to be opened) What about LH guitars? Typically the only difference is a compensated saddle from the opposite side and a new nut. The bracing doesn't differ. If I were to put the lower leg on the wrong side, what tonal differences might be expected? d |

Let me admit..."I make mistakes." I previously explained my confusion, received a perfectly good reply (thanks Howard,) stewed on it, mulled it over, studied it, and then proceeded to glue the leg brace on backwards. So, once again, I hope someone can comment on what tonal effect might be noticed by having the diagonal leg run from bass to the treble rather than the treble to the bass. Anyone with experience on this could same the hassle of taking the brace off and re-doing it. Thanks Dave |

Dave, Punish yourself and remove the brace and re-do it. I tend to rush a bit also. With the three I've built so far I have redone quite a few things because of not paying close enough attention. Anything worth doing is worth doing over and over again until you get it right. Steve |
