My wife designs and does counted cross-stitch and she found these clip on accessories for eye glass wearers:

She has them in 300 and 400 and I have found that the 300 are great for fretting and I suspect that the 400 are nice for inlay routing. These are web buys only, so no slying around in the fabric store is necessary! laughing6-hehe

The part that I really like is that they act as large bifocals, allowing you to look over the top and see at a distance. The reasonable price doesn't hurt either.

They don't look too good but they're cheap enough and you can get different magnifying strength for them.

I have a pair of these, I have them clipped on my sun glasses for fishing. I flip them down when I need to tie on a new fly. :geek: They work great
