This is my latest. It took me over a year to complete. ( I had to have my cervical spine rebuilt and a host of other health problems which finally seem to be improving, not to mention a 50hr+ work week).
The body has a dred shape but is actually only a little bit bigger than an OOO. 12 fret neck with CF reinforcement. The finish is Target's Hybrivar. Waverly tuners (which I love despite the cost).
I am very pleased with the sound. With age and unfortunate high frequency hearing loss I have come to appreciate tactile response, especially what my left hand feels, and this one performs quite nicely.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make the meeting next week at Blue's Creek in PA . I would love to show this to everyone, but I guess it will have to wait awhile.

Thanks for looking!

It's a beauty and an inspiration. I am not familiar with that finish you mentioned.

Hybrivar is a water-based varnish with a linseed oil base made by Target Coatings. This was my first project using it. It has a glorious sheen. I sprayed it my Fuji rig and had lots of problems - it does not dry quickly and runs easily. Had some trouble buffing as well. It is probably just a learning curve thing. I will probably give it another try.
Thanks for your compliment.

Beautiful grain on the Coco, nice contrast with the Maple bindings. Great job with the rosette and purflings. And.... I really like the attention to detail such as the relief carving of the back of the peghead at the neck join. Nice work !! [:Y:]

Nice shape. It reminds me of the old Gurians. For slow, runny finishes Bruce Petros used to use a rotisserie. Love the coco, wish I weren't allergic to it. gaah Great work.

Great looking first effort! You're well on your way now!

I'm partial to slotheads and commend you for taking on the additional effort. Seems like you pulled it off quite well.

And how does it sound compared to a standaed dred and to what you expected?

Excellent guitar. Nice body shape. pretty abalone accouterments.
I like the foggy look too in the photo, reminds me of home.

Twelve frets, it's all anyone really needs anyway. Hand that to Tommy Emmanuel! I'd love to play on it a bit too! GReat work.
