Do they do full re-finishing? I'm asking because I got a friend that has an old Martin that needs a full stripping and re-finishing job. I know these two do beautiful work on new guitars. Just wondering if they'll do a refinishing job start to finish?

how old and model of Martin. The refinish and messing with it may cause it to lose value and something would want to think about. If it is just to make it look new maybe not a good idea. That is for the owner to determine of course if an "old" Martin and not just a newer one that has been used. Guess it is one of those term things "what does old mean" Think both are working and doing finish are as others here.

YEP you will pretty much evaporate the value of a vintage Martin by stripping it and refinishing it. Some restoration is appropriate but must be reversible

Why aren't you asking them?

I agree with Howard, just call them, they are both very approachable and willing to give advice.

The "right way" to do old Martins is to take the neck off and refinish...if absolutely necessary, and sometimes it is...

Yes, Addam does refins. He just refinished the back and sides of the 10,000th SCGC...the "Art Nouveau" inlaid by Larry Robinson...and it came out perfect...better than new. There were "issues" with the original finish...

It's not really a vintage Martin. The finish on it just didn't hold up.

I didn't ask them just because I thought it would be a lot easier to ask on here to see if they even do re-finishing. I guess I'll give them a call sometime.
