http://web.mac.com/yakmatter/mada/arthur.html Every now and then, it's completely surprising to meet some new OLFer with his stuff together. I think that's what just happened with Adam Kay when clicking a link in the Doctor Jeff thread. I was taken to Arthur, which apparently is either a song Adam plays or the name of the guitar? Not sure. But what you will find is a very enjoyable listen to some good music. Adam also has up for your viewing a photoessay of the guitar. There are numerous other links to his music and guitars he built, and one strange but way cool Leslie cabinet amp thingy. And a recording using that too. I marvel at some folks ingenuity, Adam has it. I don't know Adam from Adam, but I did want to applaud his fine work and his willingness to share it with us. Is there any hope for us mortals? |

What style of music is this? Also, how do you like it? The two guitars he displays on his website are very nice. Good old sapele. I notice after a stint using African Mahogany Khaya, that Taylor is back to sapele. Wonder why? Again, Adam, I really liked your music, your guitars, and your photoessays sharing your build progress. And, but clicking the right buttons you can get larger images. Nice Job!!! |

What's Lydia's middle name? That homemade Leslie sounds great! -Dennis |

thanks for the kind words, fellas! arthur is the name of the guitar. i thought i'd give each guitar a name... all one of them (martin was a kit, so i'm not counting him). if i manage to complete another (in between diaper changes) it will get a name as well. the piece really has no name.. but, arthur seems suitable. what you don't know: the truss rod in arthur is installed upside down... one day, that is going to prove an awkward oversight. i'm a habitual internet forum reader ...and i don't think i have ever posted to a forum until i stumbled upon the OLF. this site is a fountain of information. if only i had been reading it when i installed the truss rod on arthur! anyway, many multiple thanks to the people who run this forum, the sponsors, and the folks who contribute. as for genre... your guess is as good as mine. if you don't like one album, try another ...they vary greatly. the first thing you are likely to hear is relatively high-voltage indie rock... blue northern is fingerstyle/voice/harmonica. episode 51 features a lot of leslie. thanks again. .adam. |

Hey Adam. You probably weren't around when everyone was posting their luthier doh-moments. For me one of those was leaving a back on a cocobolo Grand Auditorium at .130 inches and bracing up. Grrrr. I'll have to thin it by hand, no way I'm leaving it. Truss rod, well, you know that's gonna be tough, especially if the neck is finished. But, you didn't say whether it was double-action rod. IF it is you may not have to do anything? eh? I enjoyed your music and the pics of your builds. Bruce |
