Chris that looks amazing, you must be very happy. Redwood/mahogany is a classic combination, should sound like an angel. I like the rosette particularly, would not have looked so good bookmatched, yes I like that. I've just started working on a redwood/Cuban mahogany OM, next to Euro, Redwood is my favourite topwood. That is an astounding effort for a first guitar. That's it- I am taking my first to bits and reharvesting the parts! Somebody said that redwood/mahog sounded like an angel, that really appealed to me. I have some redwood, now what is the very best mahogany can people recommend? |

Thank for your reply, Chris. I am guilty of acquiring different tonewoods over a couple of years and have neglected mahogany.... Honduran I think is nigh on impossible to import into the UK- although I think Cuban is available SOMEWHERE, need to go and do some research. Now I know why the chap at the scrapyard was charging me £150 for a 8ft x 2ft x 6" chunk of 100 year old 'hog. As for the bling, it doesn't matter too much to me- I keep seeing this redwood/hog combo coming up as a great pair and really want to build a guitar made of this one day. I blame your beautiful guitar for starting a relapse of WAS again....

I'd probably call the usual suspects over here and get a couple of sets of Honduran while it's still at a reasonable price.
