I just recently finished a carved top LP-type electric that I started 4 years ago. It is for my 17 year old son, Joe and was named "Emily" after my 93 year old mother.

It was significantly enhanced by Joe White's most complex and beautifully executed effort yet. I am just overwhelmed with the finish and can't thank Joe enough for his patience (with me), dedication and persistence to excellence. Thanks, Joe!

Thanks to my good friend Anthony Z for his help in designing the logo and for John Watkins doing the CNC work. Thanks also to AZ for his effort in bending the moustache binding at the top of the headstock.

OK...here are the particulars:

...Chambered Mahogany back
...Flamed Maple top from Jason Voth (where are you, Jason!...thanks, buddy!)
...Curly maple binding and pickup covers.
...Seymour Duncan vintage '59 humbuckers
...yada, yada, yada

Here are some pics:

This is what it's all about for me!

Wow JJ, that is one hot Le'Paul, very nice indeed. Congrats my friend and I'm sure Joe is quite stoked. Cool to have his name on the headstock too huh!!!

The pictures don't do that guitar justice.

We all sure had fun playing it this past weekend. The fit, finish and set-up on this guitar is perfect - it is an absolute dream to play. Your son Joe will cherish that guitar for life.

JJ my friend your second foray into the dark side has again produced a stunning guitar! Emily is the best looking LP that I have ever seen and you should be very, very proud.

In keeping with your traditions of giving your creations to family members and naming them in honor of VIPs in your life this is much more than a beautiful guitar.

Dave...Joe has been playing for 4 years and Frank for 2 years. He plays in his High School jazz band as well as has started a band of his own. He plays well in quite a few styles of music. He's far more worthy to have this guitar than I am.

That's a great looking guitar- yeah, I'll give credit to Joe White's marvellous finish, but come on, most of the credit goes to you, JJ!

It's got such a vintage look to it in design, logo, right down to the tint, I can imagine this becoming quite popular. I can see this guitar appealing to all ages.

Goregeous!

That is one gorgeous Le'Paul and one very fortunate son! Great work on the guitar and kudos to Joe on the finish!

That is really pretty JJ. I am envious. Carving a top is hard, especailly so in curly wood and you did great with it.

Great job JJ. Your son really looks happy and from your words of both your sons will have great appreciation for that guitar and what you did for him, as they did with the acoustics. Your a really good builder, but more important a really great dad, and it shows. Semper Fi (for me somehting one earns)

building it for him. He looks happy!! If I ever get another

This guitar is totally off the charts! I found it perfect in every respect. Actually dusted off the old Boss pedal and we had a blast trying to remember all those rock tunes of yester-year! :D

AZ is right. Pictures are far from doing this beauty any kind of justice. We went to the 12th Fret, Toronto's guitar Mecca and there were a lot of LP's there. Not one of them could hold a candle to Emilie...

Looks mint, plays like butter...
