Currently I sharpen everything freehand using scary sharp. I do okay with fat Hock blades and chisels, but teeny finger plane blades are tricky. How do you all tackle these little guys?

Same as any other curved blade. Rotate a bit with your stroke so you don't create a facet.

I do it by hand and get better results when I take the irons out of the planes......... laughing6-hehe

When I'm making curved blades I usually stick them bevel up in a vise and use a diamond pocket hone to shape the bevel. I work both towards the edge and across the bevel to make sure things stay even and symmetrical.

Once the edge is cutting nice I just work the flat side too sharpen them up.
